Alot has been going on!!!

Finally I am getting a chance to return to blogging I'm very sorry for being away for such a long time but I have been extremely busy, there have been a lot of new and exciting things happening.

First the media cabinet has been completed . It was a great build, I learned alot and it was a great confidence builder. I really enjoy shaker design and construction and it played a huge role in the design aspect, the one thing I added was curves in the stretchers. For me it broke up the extreme strait lines and gave a very nice feel to the piece. I also worked many hours with grain direction the main area being with the front doors. When looking at the doors it almost looks as if someone dropped a pebble into a pond and the grain represents the ripples in the water. The most important thing that I learned form this project was what you are capable of if you put your heart, mind and soul into something. This piece has really sparked something for me and has made me take a much more aggressive role toward woodworking.

So with that said I can now tell you why I have been so busy! Since finishing the project I started my own woodworking business called Ellsworth Bucey Furniture. It has been a very exhausting and exciting experience. Like I'm sure you know there is alot that goes into starting a business. I am not going to get into detail today but I will be focusing on this process in a future post.

Well here we are back at it with a whole different spin on things and I'm looking forward to having the time to share with you whats going on. I look forward to your comments and question. Also the shop has come into some new space so I will be hopefully able to get a video of the process if not definitely pictures of the transformation to the shop and there might be a new TOOL coming as well!!!!
